Notes : the beautiful folk song - composed and originally sung by Woody Guthrie in 1941 - and a pleasant song composed by Tevis himself with Italian lyrics by Franco Migliacci, well performed by the Californian singer. Arrangements and orchestra Ennio Morricone, chorus conducted by Franco Potenza.  " PASTURES OF PLENTY " has the same arrangement as " PER UN PUGNO DI DOLLARI " main theme ("TITOLI ") . Two years after this 1962 release, Morricone proposed exactly this arrangement to Sergio Leone as the central knot for the score of his 1964 masterwork of Spaghetti-Western genre. After listening to it, the director was so greatly enthusiastic to soon confirm his committment to Morricone. Only the vocal  line was replaced with the magnificent and remarkable Alessandro Alessandroni's whistle (and "twanging" guitar), just to start a new, peculiar style: ...."A star was born ". 

Indeed a musical document of an extraordinary importance in the history of soundtracks.
