Description
This is an original U.S. pressing copy of the sole LP (not counting a later archival release) by Detroit group Phantom (or Phantom’s Divine Comedy), released in 1974. Originally known as Walpurgis, the group played fine c. '69-'70 psych with occult lyrics, as song titles like "Tales from a Wizard," "Devil's Child," "Black Magic, White Magic," and "Merlin" attest. They are notable for vocalist Phantom's resemblance to the Doors' Jim Morrison, and for the mystery originally surrounding the identities of the group members (on the back cover of the jacket, they are identified as w, x, y, and z). The jacket looks good overall, but has a few notable flaws: a large cutout hole, mostly light creasing in the corners and along the spine and seams, and staining and wear in one corner (see photo) (VG++). The disc is clean with some scraping and scuffing (mostly on side 2), and plays with mostly light surface noise (VG++).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
