Description
OK, get ready to go crazy. This LP is ultra-rare, and totally amazing. There is no history of this on any auction site. Ask around--nobody knows this one. From 1963, though it sounds a bit later, a 3 lp set from the Notre Dame Jazz Fest. Each group has an entire side!
Before the Pharoahs, before Earth Wind and Fire, these guys called themselves The Jazzmen. The band was: Don Myrick, Maurice White, Louis Satterfield, Fred Humphrey, Charles Handy, and Earnest McCarthy. This is the real deal. But hey, don't take my word for it--listen for yourself!

But, it doesn't stop there. Cleve Pozar made some free jazz recordings on his own private label and on ESP. Before that, his name was Bob Pozar, and he has a side on this set! Hear this incredible spiritual moody modal track!
So there you have it. You know the ridiculous rarity of this item, as well as how good it is. Chances are, this is the only copy you will ever see. Since finding this gem, I have contacted every single person from every single group on the lp that I could possibly find, in search of copies. That was a lot of work, and a lot of people. I have this one left only (the other 2 having gone to a couple close friends). It went like this: they made about 50 of these (though nobody knows for sure), and they were purchased by the participants. This was the first recording for these young artists, and so the records generally got played for everyone they knew. When I got a copy from an artist, the side with that person's group was worn. You, however, have an opportunity to actually own a pretty nice copy! The lps are vg+. The samples of course come from these very records. The bad news is the cover-- water damaged and fairly trashed.
There is a reasonable reserve on this lp. As another copy will not likely surface anytime soon if ever, bid accordingly!
