RECORD LABEL: EPIC LN 3426. Mono Vinyl. Made in Canada; 1958. Original Deep Groove pressing. Matrix numbers: side one: XFM42365-1C side two:XFM42366-1A
DESCRIPTION: A gorgeous recording, in magnificent mono.
For this lyrical LP, altoist Phil Woods (who is joined by pianist Bob Corwin, bassist Sonny Dallas, and drummer Nick Stabulas) emphasizes ballads. He performs five standards (highlighted by "In Your Own Sweet Way," "I Love You," and "Like Someone in Love"), an obscurity, and two of his originals (including "Waltz for a Lovely Wife"). A tasteful, swinging, and boppish set, mostly played at slower tempos.
CONDITION:
VINYL (play- & visually graded): VG+, a few light ticks one track only (A,2),where there is basically a surface scratch, the rest is EX or NM-; this is a beautiful pressing of a beautiful record .
COVER: EX/VG++, light rw, slight abrasion, light cw, some discolouration on back, a small piece of tape was removed from top middle a very long time ago (visible in photos.)

THE RECORD HAS BEEN CLEANED with a NITTY GRITTY record cleaning machine.
It is in a new, non-static, high-density plastic inner sleeve; the cover is protected with a clear plastic outer sleeve.
PROFESSIONAL PACKAGING: Record is removed from cover, inserted into the custom-made plastic outer sleeve along with the cover, then nestled in a protective two-layer bed of bubble wrap. Then it goes into a secure, crush-resistant new box. No split seams or mashed corners. (In the case of sealed records, we will not open them unless asked.)
