PHIL WOODS – WOODLORE – PRESTIGE 7018 – NYC ADDRESS – VG+/VG+ - MONO
Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder’s studio on November 25, 1955, this session features: Phil Woods (as) John Williams (p) Teddy Kotick (b) Nick Stabulas (d). SIDE A: WOODLORE; FALLING IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN and BE MY LOVE. SIDE B: SLOW BOAT TO CHINA; GET HAPPY and STROLLIN’ WITH PAM. The yellow and black label has the address of 446 W 50th ST., N.Y.C as does the record jacket. The initials “RVG” are stamped into both sides of the blank vinyl. This is a MONO recording.
I usually do not place out anything that I grade VG+, but this is a rare item and is priced as such. There may be someone who may be interested in this LP? There are marks on both sides of the vinyl, but do not appear to interfere with play. There is some spindle hole wear and there are marks around the spindle hole on both sides. The record jacket has a taped seam on the lower right bottom but that’s the only one. There are signs of wear on the cover, as well as the liner notes. The name “Frank Copley” is stamped on the top of the liner notes. There is a small tear on the liner notes, halfway up on the right side.
