PHILIPS SAL 3532-3 – BRUCKNER SYMPHONY No.5 / JOCHUM

 

Stereo boxed set commemorating the 1200th Anniversary of the Benedictine Abbey of Ottobeuron, Germany.  The 2 records have Phillips maroon / silver stereo labels, catalogue nos. SAL 3532 & 3.  The 36-page booklet, giving the history of the abbey is lavishly illustrated. 

Bruckner’s 5th Symphony is played by the Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Eugen Jochum (3-sides).  One side is organ music recorded in the Basilica of the Abbey.

The records and booklet are in superb condition.  The box is strong and intact but has grubby scuff marks on the front paper cover.
