PIEL DE PUEBLO - Rock De Las Heridas. Survival Records, Latin America reissue release. #484 of 500. NEW LP. Originally issued in 1972. MEMBERS: Pajarito Zaguri, Willy Pedemonte, Nacho Smilari, and Carlos Calabró with Hector Lopez Furst. TRACKS: Silencio Para Un Pueblo Dormido, La Tierra En 998 Pedazos, Jugando A Las Palabras, Por Tener Un Poco Más, Sexo Galactico, La Palida De Nacho, Veni Amigo A La Zapada, and El Rockito De La Bufona. DESCRIPTION: A short-lived group put together by Zaguri (ex-Los Beatniks and La Barra de Chocolate) and Smilari (ex-La Barra de Chocolate and Vox Dei). Heavy duty Argentinian psych ultra-rarity (original copies go for $1000+). Simply put, one of the best Latin psych albums around—swirling electric piano, chunky guitars, with fine crying and wailing solos from time to time, charismatic vocals, and a grooving electric violin and guitar jam; great transfer too. The album will appeal to fans of Pappo's Blues, Cuero and Montes. Lyrically it tried to deal with the political and social issues of the day. Highlights include Por Tener Un Poco Más with the electric violin of Héctor López Furst, the wah-wah guitar on Jugando A Las Palabras and the guitar driven Silencio Para Un Pueblo Dormido.
