MAMBOSO / DEA DI UN SOGNO ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST single by PIERO PICCIONI. Original Italian pressing on the CAM label (CA. 2512), from 1963. Seldom seen or heard Italian soundtrack rarity. Desirable item and yet another stunning example of the ever stylish Piccioni sound. Features the fabulously sexy MAMBOSO theme. Top of the top lounge music with the maestro on jazz piano over a super-cool rhythm section led by Berto Pisano on bass / a sultry female scat vocalist / infectious Brazilian shakers and latin cowbell sounds. Very elegant atmospheres evoking the key storyline behind the film. Our favourite theme from Un Tentativo Sentimentale CAM Cms 30-064 OST Lp. Sounds more like a slow samba with similar motifs to his IL Boom film score too. DEA DI UN SOGNO is classic Piccioni lounge of the period. Mood music from the cult drama directed by Pasquale Festa Campanile and Massimo Franciosa starring Francoise Prevost / Jean Marc Bory / Barbara Steele and Gabriele Ferzetti. Iconic sleeve artwork. Rare OST 45!!!
Musicians from Un Tentativo Sentimentale film score included:
Piero Piccioni - piano / hammond organ
Berto Pisano - double bass
Nunzio Rotondo - trumpet
Ivan Vandor - tenor sax
Marcello Boschi - alto sax
Franco Chiari - vibraphone
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in strong VG+ condition with some light scuffs and hairlines. Surface noises. A few pressing marks. The thick card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition with some natural age discoloration and light dirt marks from storage (mostly to back sleeve). Minimal light corner and edge wear. Rare OST 45!!!
