GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : musica composta e diretta da Piero Umiliani. 11 tracce interamente dedicate alla musica jazz. Temi fondamentalmente gioiosi che ben illustrano la commedia brillante diretta da Giorgio Capitani. Segnalo : " Gran Baruffa " dalla ritmica molto vivace con ottimo vibrafono ed interventi dell'organo Hammond, " O Dolci Baci " (4a) sottolineato da un tessuto sonoro percussivo con ottimo lavoro del flauto e del basso, " Gente Bene " con assoli di tromba, intervento del sax e del pianoforte, " Dandy " sofisticato slow con una bella tromba supportata da chitarra e ritmi, " Come nelle Vecchie Comiche " (5b) magnifico tema jazz per organo e orchestra. In generale siamo di fronte ad un jazz elegante che non segue le mode del momento ma scaturisce dall'amore e dalle passate esperienze del grande musicista.

Notes : music composed and conducted by Piero Umiliani. 11 tracks totally dedicated to jazz music. Themes mainly from the joyful verve well depicting the light comedy directed by Giorgio Capitani. Some mentions :  " Gran Baruffa " from the hectic pace and with a remarkable vibraphone and the presence of Hammond, " O Dolci Baci " (4a) characterized by a percussive sound tapestry with excellent performance of flute and bass, " Gente Bene " with trumpet solos, sax and piano, " Dandy " sophisticated slow with an excellent trumpet well supported by guitar and rhythms,  " Come nelle Vecchie Comiche " (5b) magnificent jazz theme for Hammond and orchestra. In general terms we can listen to elegant jazz which does not follow the trends of the moment but springs from the love and from the past experiences of the great musician.
