AFRICA - ITALIAN LIBRARY Lp by M. ZALLA aka PIERO UMILIANI. Original Italian promo-only pressing on the LIUTO label (LRS 0046), from 1972. Deeply stoned and exotic arrangements by the maestro. An outstanding session featuring his mythical, Sound Workshop session men and key players from the Italian jazz scene. Tropical psychedelic lounge with dub production / studio FX and treated instrumentation. Fabulous use of percussion. Hallucinogenic rhythms and experimental compositions / spooky electronica / dark Brazilian macumba with berimbau to trippy modal flute and beautiful marimba themes. Pure valium / come-down music or funky and leftfield for DJs. Our soundclip opens with the insane funky breaks of AFRICA TODAY featuring the sitar sounding mandoloncello of Alessandroni followed by the jazz dub theme RHYTHMICAL STRESS / the spooky synthesizers and treated flute of SORTILEGE and several other themes. Mood music for an unknown Italian soundtrack / TV show or radio programme. Very rare Library Lp!!! Full tracklisting: AFRICA TO-DAY / SAVANA / GREEN DAWN / RHYTHMICAL STRESS / DRUMS CHORAL / LONELY VILLAGE / MYSTERIOUS / ECHOS / SORTILEGE / AFRICAN SUSPENCE / SADNESS / RITE / FOLK TUNE / DRUMS SUSPENCE
