Bloody rare Pierre Henry original pressing vinyl from the mid-70's on french Philips(have a look at my other auctions for more Pierre Henry records!!)
"Musiques pour une fete" is the result of long years of research from the master of musique concrete, in creating music for a spontaneous event dedicated to dance. The spontaneous concert took place on 11 September 1971 on the Feast of Humanity and danced by the ballets of Maurice Bejart at the Feast of Tuilleries in 16 August 1975. One can here an unbelievable sound collage(reminding for the more imaginative even Nurse with wound or Negativland!!) at times rhythmic at other times repetitive with lots of electroacoustic improvisations, cut-ups, tape manipulations. Maybe together with Machine Danse, Henry's most "pop" oriented work, but definetely a masterpiece & an instant classic!! On the Nurse with wound list of influences.
Extremely hard to find, shows up scarcely on ebay, because of the small number limited edition pressing it was pressed in back in 1975(and not re-released later)!!
Cover lies in excellent condition, while the vinyl lies in excellent- condition with some light hairline marks(but plays perfectly)!!
