Description
PIGMEAT PETE and CATJUICE CHARLIE
COLUMBIA 14463
V+
TITLES:
- Gin Done Done It
- Do It Right
Possibly two of the widest names on a blues recording. Pigmeat Pete and Catjuice Charlie were Kid Wesley Wilson and Harry McDaniels. Wesley Wilson had recorded as Coot Grant and was married to Leola Wilson. Great recording from 1929.
Record has lots of original shine, and very few surface marks. However, record does have a large rim chip (see scan) which extends into 1 or 2 grooves on each side. Record also has a slight warp, which does not affect play. White spots on the chip scan are from dust on my scanner and do not appear on the record. This record without the rim chip would grade E-. Grade reduced to V+, but plays better.
