PINK FAIRIES KINGS OF OBLIVION 1973 1st PRESS + INSERT!
Description
'Kings Of Oblivion' was the third album from the UK underground group Pink Fairies, released in 1973.
On offer here is a superb UK vinyl pressing of that LP, complete with the three-leaf, full size, card fold-out with individual portraits of the band members.
By this time Larry Wallis (later of Motorhead) had joined the band to take over lead guitar duties and most of the songwriting.
The music is classic psychedelic rock with heavy guitar overtones. It features seven tracks including the almost ten minute 'I Wish I Was A Girl' and the seven minute 'Street Urchin'.
I bought this LP immediately on it's release in 1973 and have looked after it well - storing it upright, compressed tightly between other albums. Accordingly the sleeve still has a wonderful glossy sheen with only light stress markings around the edges and very slight scuffing at the top and bottom opening corners. Grade: 'Excellent'.
The vinyl is extremely flat and virtually unmarked, looking almost brand new. Grade: 'Excellent +'
The fold out insert has never been removed from the record's sleeve and is still almost as new. Grade: 'Excellent +'.
The LP is on the Polydor record label, catalogue number 2383-212. The inscriptions in the run-out grooves read "2383212 A#1 420 11 6" and "FARREN'S A GOAT!" on the first side and "2383212 B#1 420 11 5" and "THE BIG DART CO." on the second side.
