Beautiful Nr Mint 1971 UK Very Early Harvest Pressing (A//4 & B//3 Matrix) Green & Yellow Labels 'Atom Heart Mother' by Pink Floyd!!! Sleeve And Vinyl in Impossible Nr Mint Condition, Very, Very Rare Like This!
When I was invited to look at a record collection recently, this was the 1st record that I picked out because I just couldn't believe the condition it was in. The owner said he'd played it only once or twice ever as it really wasn't his 'cup of tea', he'd then put it away for the best part of 35 Years. As it was I purchased a number of other records from this person, however if I had driven the 25 miles and just gone home with this one record my journey would have been more than worthwhile! You are bidding on on of the all time classic LP's - and almost impossible to find nowadays (especially in this condition!!!) The Awesome Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd!!! This is an ORIGINAL 1970 UK Pressing on the all important Green/Yellow Harvest record label and I am pleased to inform you that it is in STUNNING Nr Mint Condition throughout! We are very exited about this one here, as it is almost impossible to find a N. Mint early 1971 UK pressing of this amazing LP on the original Green/ Yellow Labels anymore. Although not a very 1st pressing, (1st pressings omitted the small EMI box on the centre labels, the EMI box only came into existence in 1971), this is still a very, very early press, as the Matrix ending A//4 & B//3 guarantees it would have been one of the second batch pressed, which were released in 1971, approx. 8 months after the initial 1970 1st Press release.
I personally think that to find a copy of this 34-35 year old classic in Nr Mint condition like this is RARER than turning up a VG+ or even EX- 1st pressing! In some cases it can be desirable to own 1st presses of seminal records such as this, however, to me condition is just as important, and I would prefer to own a pristine Nr Mint early press of a LP like this rather than a scruffy 1st press any day.
As described above, the vinyl is in stunning Nr Mint condition. It has only ever been played only once or twice in 35 years! It retains all of its factory-pressed shine & lustre and looks as if it was made yesterday! The vinyl easily grades as Nr Mint, it is, along with my own personal copy, the best orig. Green/Yellow label pressing I have ever seen of this album! The Cool Yellow/Green Harvest Centre labels themselves are in superb Nr Mint condition, perfect with no lifting, rubbing, tears, Scribbles and no unwanted writing of any kind. There are some spindle lines, but these can only be seen when holding the label angled under strong light. The gramophone rims containing the all-important Matrix, and mother stampers are Mint.
Now we get to the Classic Garrod & Lofthouse Gatefold Sleeve and I am very pleased to report that this sleeve is also in superb Nr Mint condition, it is very special indeed. I knew when I 1st saw this sleeve that the record inside would be Nr Mint, you can just tell sometimes. The crispness of this sleeve is astounding. Because the 1st and earliest pressings of this sleeve (of which this is one) were un-laminated they generally have not stood the test of time well at all, and when they turn up are smudged and tattered (and usually a lot worse). This one however, is absolutely beautiful, and like the vinyl is closer to Mint than I ever thought I would see for this record, outside of my own collection. The sleeve is tremendous and in actual fact slightly better than my own copy... However, unlike a lot of record sellers nowadays I do not believe in mixing and matching album components. The original disc should always stay with its original sleeve and inner! So let me now give you the fine point of this amazing sleeve ... There are NO Tears, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! I really cannot find anything wrong with this sleeve, at a push there are a couple of what look miniscule dirt flicks, one of the front gatefold, on on the inside (which has left a tiny impression on both sides) and one on the back. However these are very minor details! The gatefold folds out perfectly with NO creasing!!! The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with NO Ring Wear and a good strong Mint spine, with Mint legible spine text!!! There is NO corner wear and NO edge wear!! Now the grading part, and as you'd expect from that description, it is Nr Mint!!!! It comes with its ORIGINAL EMI Inner Sleeve, which is also crisp clean, flat, crease-free and Nr Mint!!!
Not much else to add really, I hope I have conveyed how special this copy of 'Atom Heart Mother' really is, no amount of spiel or images will do it justice. It really is beautiful, and sometimes in this job, I don't like to see records go, this is one if those times. Wherever this record ends up, the winner can rest assured that they have just won one of the very best remaining copies of this record in existence in the UK.
This particular record will be shipped via our usual methods (see below), but with a tough outer PVC sleeve added for extra protection during transit...

About Reef_77...
Feedback from our many regular customers suggests that buying Rare Vinyl on eBay is becoming increasingly risky; with inaccurate grading, poor packaging & deceit becoming more & more common. Unlike some excitable eBay record sellers, we do not 'SHOUT!!!!!!!!' the description at you, telling you how "STUNNINGLY MEGA RARE!!!!!" a record is (when in fact it is usually fairly common). Nor do we do not try to give you our life story with each listing, thus taking up your whole evening reading just one description, (and ours writing it!). And we are certainly not one of the increasing number eBay chancers, trying their hand at dealing in rare records, labelling whatever old junk they have as a mega rare 1st pressings, and having no knowledge of how to grade, handle & package a record.
We are a trusted eBay Powerseller, and have been selling quality vinyl on eBay now for the best part of 4 years. We have amassed over 1,270+ individual positive feedbacks (plus another 500+ repeat customer feedbacks) and counting, and have a 99.8% feedback rating. We have not achieved this by selling sub-standard records.
What you get from Reef_77 is a straight forward honest description of the record you are interested in, along with any other information worth noting regarding the rarity etc. of the pressing. We are not bulk listers, who never have time to answer questions and offer only poor quality records. Each record is packed with the utmost care using the latest and strongest purpose-designed packaging available. Good Luck! The UK Record Collector Grading System NAME GRADE INFORMATION Mint M Vinyl has just left the vinyl pressing machine and does not have any manufacturing flaws. It has never been handled and never played. Unless you work at the record plant, there is no such thing as mint! Record sleeves just left the pressing machine that made the sleeve. It has never been handled and a record has not been placed inside it which would deform it. Unless you work at the record plant, there is no such thing as mint! Near Mint NM Vinyl is virtually perfect. At most, perhaps a light scuff appears on the record. It should play without any noise or skips of any kind whatsoever. Record sleeve should look close to perfect with only minor signs of wear. The artwork should have no marks of any kind and there should be no "ring wear" (that is, the outline of the record inside should not show through the sleeve). Excellent EX or VG++ Vinyl should play with no skips of any kind. It should sound better than it looks. Often "Excellent" or "VG++" is a conservative version of "Near Mint." Perhaps some very minor surface scuffs, but again no effect on sound quality. Record sleeve might have some minor "ring wear" but otherwise the artwork should be unaffected. There should be no "ink wear" to the artwork. That is areas where the ink has worn down to the paper underneath. Perhaps some minor creases in the corners but no splits in the seams. Very Good Plus VG+ Vinyl will show wear including surface scuffs and some light scratches. Often, minor scuffs will be caused by the inner sleeve rubbing against the vinyl. If held up to a bright light, you will often see many tiny lines on the vinyl. Perhaps a few minor clicks or pops can be heard, but no deep scratches. Record sleeve should be clean, but slightly more aged. Perhaps some very small writing on the sleeve. The corners may be slightly bent, but not broken. There may be wear to the seams but not tears or holes popping through. Very Good VG Vinyl doesn't necessarily look good, but still plays well. Surface noise will probably be present including pops and clicks. At good volume levels, the music should overpower any pops and clicks present. Flaws should only be heard between tracks or on low volume passages. Record sleeve will look warn and used. There may be seam splitting, but not complete separation of the sleeve panels from each other. There will be noticeable ring wear on the cover, but most of the cover should still be in good condition. Good VG-/G+/G Vinyl looks well played, dull, and possibly not well taken care of. However, the record should still play without skipping. It will have substantial surface noise, pops and clicks. Loss of various parts of the dynamic range will occur due to worn grooves. This grade depends a lot on the owner and the type of record. A rock record may still sound "good" at high volume whereas a slower styles of music will sound terrible. Record sleeve may have many problems including seam splits, writing, taped repairs. However some of the artwork will still be visible. There can't be large tears and gouges in the cover. Fair/Poor F/P Doesn't meet the lowest standards for "good". At this point, the vinyl is difficult to listen to. The only reason to keep it would be due to extreme rarity or to fill a good sleeve until a better copy of the vinyl comes along. Doesn't meet the lowest standards for "good". The sleeve is torn, bent, and shows a very high level of wear. Attempts to tape the sleeve have made it worse. The only reason to keep the sleeve would be due to extreme rarity or to protect a good copy of the vinyl until a better sleeve comes along.price rating
