Visual grading
The vinyls are visually in lovely condition with only faint hairlines and have only been lightly played as there is not a great deal of spindle wear. There are 3/4 radial lines, a longer one on S4, and a couple of tiny marks on S3 but these have no bearing on the audio. Overall it would be difficult to find a better looking 'Nice Pair'.
Play grading
Side One of 'Piper' plays with incredible power and clarity and with no obvious interference. There is just a little distortion on the top end but this was always the case with this classic album. There is no crackle and no clicks and only a hint of static here and there. Side Two plays in much the same way with just one pop at the end of 'Interstellar Overdrive'.
Side One of 'Saucerful' has wonderful audio and again plays with no intrusive interference. There is some distortion and light static here and there but again as any discerning Floyd fan knows this is common place on these two albums. It does not detract from the excellent clarity and overall sound quality. 'Set The Controls...' is a great example of this and plays very clearly. The title track on Side Two plays with excellent quality and only light intermittent static but nothing that you would say intrudes on the listen. Apart from one pop the audio plays with a clarity and richness you rarely find on this LP. The final two tracks also play extremely clearly with only a touch of background static and there are no clicks or pops. The quiet ending on 'Jugband Blues' plays with impeccable audio.
Gatefold cover
The G & L cover is in excellent condition with only minor shelf wear and one of the best I have seen in a long time. The edges have hardly any rubbing and the spine is 100% legible with only faint discolouration. The two corners of the opening edge on the front cover have a little pinching. The gatefold is very clean throughout and the inside is impeccable. No marks or writing anywhere.
Labels
They are in superb condition with no writing and only one tiny, barely visible mark on S2. They look practically as new and only have a minimal amount of spindle wear.
Inner sleeves
They are in excellent shape and have no splits to the edges which is very rare. There is a small scuff mark on the green tinted one and a minor tear on the thumb notch of the other.
