Description
This 1973 release featured the reissue of their first two albums - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and A Saucerful of Secrets in a new gatefold sleeve. This has to be one of the best I have sold. Under a bright light the vinyls look simply stunning. There are no hairlines bar a couple of very fine ones on 'Saucerful' and honestly look almost like new.
The audio as you would expect is exceptional. There is barely any static across all four sides and obviously there are no skips or jumps. 'Piper' plays superbly well with just a little distortion here and there but you would be hard pressed to find better audio. 'Saucerful' plays similarly with just a little intermittent static. The audio is wonderfully clear and this would be an excellent addition to any collection.
The gatefold is in excellent condition with slight marking on the opening edge and a little pinching on the two opening corners. There is also minor spotting on the top right inside the gatefold but other than that it is extremely clean. The edges are in great shape with barely no shelf wear and it retains a strong wide spine. A great example of this early 'censored' LP.
The inner sleeves are in near perfect condition which is very rare for this LP as they so often have splits. Not this one though! Just very minor creasing they look almost as new.
