A Saucerful Of Secrets 3/3 (early stereo pressing)
This early stereo release has the black Columbia label with two EMI logos on the labels.  The audio is of a very high quality.  This cover has no flipbacks on the reverse and Gilmour is printed as Gilmore on both the labels and the cover.  The third song on S2 is numbered incorrectly as "4".

Visual grading
This vinyl is in lovely condition and is exceptionally clean for its age.  There are a couple of small radial lines on Side One and two very small faint fingerprint marks on Side Two but apart from that it is remarkably well preserved.  With only a few faint hairlines and no scratches it would be difficult to find a better looking 3/3 press.  There is some spindle wear but not excessively so.
Play grading
'Let There Be More Light' plays with incredible audio with almost no interference.  There are only a handful of faint dust ticks but you get that even with new vinyl!  There is a little distortion on the top end but I find you always get that with vinyls from this era.  There are no clicks, pops or crackle anyway, a classic start to a classic album.  'Remember a Day' plays in much the same way with perhaps some faint intermittent static but not intrusive.  The intro to 'Set The Controls...' plays without clicks or pops but does have some underlying crackle.  The audio remains very clear and has still maintained its quality very well over the decades.  To be honest the further you get into the track the more you don't notice it.  I can cope with some background crackle when there are no clicks or pops and many audiophiles would say it adds to the listening experience!  'Corporal Clegg', as is always the case with the early pressings, does play with some distortion.  This is due to the grooves being pressed closer together so as to 'fit' the track onto the side.  However, it still plays very well with no other interference.
The title track 'Saucerful...' on Side Two begins with some faint crackle at the beginning but is no worse than that.  It soon decreases and whilst there is there some intermittent static it does not intrude into the audio and plays extremely well.  From the drum section onwards the audio is excellent with only sporadic static.  There are certainly no loud clicks or pops.  'See-Saw' and 'Jugband Blues' both have wonderful audio and play with great clarity and barely any interference.  The very quiet ending on 'Jugband Blues' plays with immaculate audio.  Overall an excellent early press that would not disappoint any fan.
Cover
The G & L cover is in excellent condition with only minor shelf wear.  The edges have some rubbing and this is more noticeable along the bottom towards the opening edge.  The thin pinched spine is in lovely condition.  The actual corners are very clean and have very little rubbing.  The opening edge is in excellent shape and appears only lightly handled.  The laminate on the front cover has some small creases and the back cover is very clean with just a handful of small creases again.  There are no flipbacks on this pressing.  No marks or writing to be seen and as per the early pressings it has 'Gilmore' on the tracklisting.
Labels
They are in great condition with only a little amount of spindle wear on S2.  Around the label is printed "EMI Records, Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorised public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited. Made in GT Britain".
Inner sleeve
This has the 'Care of your Record - Important Notice' inner sleeve which is in excellent shape with no splits or tears, just some light creasing.
