Pink Floyd 'Animals' 1977 UK original vinyl album on the Harvest picture label, catalogue number SHVL 815 (stereo)
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side 1: SHVL 815 A-2U 8 GDR Side 2: SHVL 815 B-2U 2 TA
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. When viewed under a bright light there are very few surface marks or scratches visible - in fact barely any at all on Side 1 and just a few really fine superficial scratches on Side 2. The playing surfaces on both sides retain an almost new appearance with a high gloss finish and there is absolutely nothing by way of blemishes which are tangible. The record plays smoothly all the way through, very clearly, with Side 1 also producing very clear audio - Side 2 has a little surface sound on the non recorded sections and some light crackle at the start of track 2 where the recording is very quiet - overall the audio is brilliant. There are no sticks, no skips, no jumps and very little lessening of the sound quality compared to new.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels have very few light spindle lines, no writing, no damage.
The cover is a gatefold type made from thick, heavy duty card, which does not have any laminate or coating. The front surface is excellent with just some tiny scuffs and scratches, a few minor indents and a few short, barely visible creases at the edges - the back surface is very similar, although the short creases next to the spine are slightly more visible. The tips of the corners and top and bottom seams show some minor rub wear. The centre piece is in excellent condition with just minor print thinning towards the top and bottom seams.
This gatefold has quite a wide spine which is in excellent condition, just slight end wear, a few small scuffs on the edges and two very thin lines running from top to bottom caused by opening and closing. All of the text is completely and clearly readable.
The inner sleeve is the original die cut from thick card, with rounded corners, a cut away entry edge and white lyrics printed on a black surface front and back also Roger Water's Pink Floyd music credit and the catalogue number. This is in excellent condition, no seam splits, no tears, no damage.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say that the gatefold is at least 'excellent', the record is visually 'excellent+' and the audio is also 'excellent+'.
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a strong record mailing box with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
