Description
For sale here is an absolutely stunning first UK pressing of Pink Floyds iconic 1977 album "Animals".
Re-advertised due to a "bidder" wasting everyone's time by bidding and then retracting bids. I apologise for this.
This is the first UK pressing as denoted by the wide spine and matrix numbers of A2 / B2. This one is a beauty. It has been impeccably cared for since purchase in 1977 on issue day. Personally I have never seen such a complete and almost perfect copy in my many years of collecting. This one is a true keeper and final upgrade.
Below I will give a brief description of the condition of each part, vinyl, cover, and inner sleeve.
Please note that I do not have a turntable to make an audio grading of the album, but have a lot of experience of vinyl and have a good idea of how to grade by visual assessment. In the event of a vinyl being not as described, I do accept returns for a full refund.
COVER:-
Correct wide spine gatefold. There is NO shelf-wear to either the bottom or top edges and the wide spine is perfect. There is just minimal colour loss on the extreme corners. No creases, no bumps or dings. The only fault (if it can be called a fault) is a previous owners name neatly written on the inside of the cover where the disc sits. Not in the gatefold, but in the record housing itself, so cannot be seen without really looking for it (see final photograph). I might have graded as NM without this. This is a near perfect cover and so is Safely graded as excellent plus (Ex+).
INNER SLEEVE:-
Inner sleeve is a cracker too. No marks, rips or tears. A very solid example with no damage at all. Graded as Ex+.
VINYL:-
The vinyl is in lovely condition. Not a mark worthy of note. A nice sheen and deep black lustre. I can only see 1 spindle trail to one side and just 2 to the other. Barely ever played and a superb example. The mother/stamper combinations are1/RAL on side one and 2/RAD on side two. As I cannot find anything to fault, it is simply graded an easy Ex+.
So that is everything. A very early first UK pressing with superb cover, inner and the vinyl itself. One for the discerning record buyer who wants a top top copy. Only graded visually but its so good it cannot be faulted.
I will be listing some cracking Floyd albums over the coming days, including an amazing 1st pressing of "Animals", probably the best I have ever come across. Also a copy of "More", green tinted west facing couple. Matrices 1G / 1G and mother/stampers also 1G / 1G. The very earliest possible and in superb condition.

I do not profit on postage. I charge what it costs me (often less!). I try to use recycled packaging and I remove vinyl from sleeve for transit. All vinyl will be supplied in a new anti-static sleeve, and each cover in a new heavyweight polythene cover.
I am very experienced in grading and posting vinyl. If anything is not as described I accept returns, no questions asked.
