This disc is part of my personal record collection and has been in my possession since purchase in 1970. It has been rarely played as it was my practice to record all new discs to my stereo tape deck , play the recordings on a day to day basis and archive the discs. I apply the Record Collector Magazine grading classification rigorously to all the discs I offer for sale. The ratings are:
Gatefold Sleeve: overall is in VERY GOOD++ condition , the structure being as sound as the day of purchase. The only issues are the remains of a small price label on the front of the sleeve (see picture) and three areas of damage and a piece of transparent tape to the photograph on the inside of the gatefold. These do not obscure any of the text on the sleeve and I have attached a photograph for bidders to assess the damage (which in my view is very insignificant)
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT condition - no writing or damage.
Disc: The appearance of the disc is better than EXCELLENT : no discernible marks, blemishes or scratches. The disc offers really good sound with lush orchestral tones on the title track. There is no distortion although there is a very small number of barely audible crackles during the quiestest parts of the album. These are so infrequent and so minor that they do not detract from the enjoyment to be derived from listening to this historic disc. The disc is a joy to listen to and, for the reason stated, it is rated, probably somewhat unfairly, as EXCELLENT+ rather than EXCELLENT+++ . All in all this is a great example of a rare and collectible disc which is key to the oeuvre of one of the giants among progressive rock bands of the early 1970s.
The disc will be packaged very carefully for posting. I am happy to answer any questions about the product.
Enjoy bidding.
