WOW!!! RARE and HARD-TO-FIND original QUADROPHONIC press, released in Chile in 1975 by EMI Records, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records), catalog number Q4 SLDC-42006, with machine etched matrix numbers QHVL 781 A 2 5 in Side 1 and QHVL 781 B 3 5 in Side 2, with orange/red EMI Records labels with black lettering and Quadrophonic logo above the spindle hole. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!!

“ATOM HEART MOTHER” by PINK FLOYD was originally released in 1970 but we had to wait until 1975 to see this masterpiece album released here in Chile, in two versions, with Stereo and Quadraphonic sound. This time, not like in so many cases of the period, we got a gatefold cover similar to the original release with the same artwork in front, back and inner covers!!! The cover is made of 2 pieces of cardboard with the inner piece pasted on the flips and the mouth edge in the right side of cover. In front cover it has the Quadrophonic logo at top right corner and in back cover is a review about the Quadraphonic sound of the record in Spanish at the top left corner and the catalog number at top right corner. In inner cover the title album is written only in Spanish, “MADRE CORAZON DE ATOMO”, and tracklist is written in English, translated to Spanish, with all credits written in Spanish. In labels the tracklist is written in English, translated to Spanish, and like in other cases, it has a misprint error, the section titled “Mind Your Throats Please”, correctly written in cover, it’s misprinted in labels, “MIND YOUR THROAST PLEASE”. We don’t know if this error was corrected in later pressings. Yes, yes, yes… Another REAL FIND, another rarity from Chile!!! “ATOM HEART MOTHER” with Quadrophonic sound and UNIQUE ERROR!!! But the most interesting fact about this record is that it ends with the sound of the dripping tap which continues into the inner groove or deadwax!!! WOW!!! If you know this album you know what I mean and now you have the chance to own this record!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in VG- or VG condition, clean, no missing parts, no rips, no writings, faint ring marks, most evident in back cover, spine fully readable but with a light seam split repaired for some past owner with a tape, tape in 3 sides and some wear in the mouth edge and corners, but solid and complete. The record is in superb EX or EX+ condition, glossy and clean but with loads of scuffs, light hairlines and some scratches which don’t affect sound at all. Labels on both sides are in NM or NM+ condition, absolutely clean and clear. The sound is in great VG or VG+ condition, loud, clear and clean, but with a soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), crackles here and there most evident at the beginning Side 1 and in the silent parts of the songs and between the tracks. Overall a great record with still a nice look and a more than respectable sound quality after 36 years!!! Not skips, no repetitions, no distorsions of any kind. Not for Minty minds, not the best look of the cover and not the best sound, but if you are Pink Floyd collector you will know this Chilean press is a RARE record no matter the condition, a MUST TO HAVE, with the UNIQUE ERROR already described and the dripping tap in the deadwax!!! WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
