Description
This is one of the best early presses of Atom Heart Mother that I have seen. The vinyl as been extremely well looked after and has obviously only been played a handful of times. Under an intense bright light I can only see 4/5 very faint hairlines. I cannot stress enough just how good the vinyl is! Especially when you consider it is 44 years old.
Released in 1970 on the Harvest label (SHVL 781) The matrix numbers are A4/B6 and stampers 3 / GGM and 2 / RD
The Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover is also in excellent condition. Yes there is slight wear but again for an early press it is one of the best I have seen. There is minor rubbing on the bottom two corners and slight wear on the top edge, two areas of 1cm each, but overall it is a very clean copy that you would not be disappointed with. It has a very strong spine in excellent order and is 100% legible. The front cover does have very faint spotting top left but to be honest it is in wonderful condition for its age - perhaps I'm being too harsh! It has a clean opening edge and the inside of the gatefold is in great condition. File under POPULAR pop groups SHVL 781 (IE 062 o 04550) stereo in the top left hand corner.
Side One I would grade as Near Mint-
Side Two is Ex+
The gatefold cover is Ex
The labels are Near Mint (as an early press it has The Pink Floyd on the labels)

ALL RECORDS ARE PROFESSIONALLY PACKED IN STRONG MAILERS WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS. THE RECORDS ARE ALSO REMOVED FROM THEIR SLEEVES TO AVOID CUTTING THROUGH THE COVER AND PUT INTO A SEPARATE SLEEVE, AND THEN PLACED INSIDE A PVC SLEEVE.
