PINK FLOYD DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
According to "The Pink Floyd Archives" this is the second issue of "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON"
There is no A-1 B-1 issue.
Pressings that use A-2 / B-2 lacquers have minor sound quality issues, particularly during the song, Money. Some copies also have a skip pressed into the grooves during the song Money. Such issues were corrected with the A-3 B-3 pressings.
- Matrix / A-Side run-out, stamped: SHVL 804 A-3
- Matrix / B-Side run-out, stamped: SHVL 804 B-3
The front cover has been found with three different types of front openings:
The right front opening of the gatefold cover is not sealed.
Back Cover: Inverted prism. In the upper right corner, it says: " SHVL 804, (IE 064-05249), stereo." There is a mark where the price sticker has been removed (easily disguised).
Inside Cover: Black with heartbeat and lyrics. "Printed and made by Garrod and Lofthouse Ltd." in blue text in lower left corner.
Spine: Black spine.
Cover Sticker: A few copies had a round title sticker on the cover.
Side one has a pop at the very start but not over the vocal and the remainder plays as EX+. Side two has a few light tics on "Them and Us" and again the rest plays as EX+.
Pyramid poster Blue pyramid. Matt. There is no catalogue number on the poster. There are two splits and pinholes in the poster and what looks like a coffee stain.
Group poster A six-pane group shot poster in landscape style with "SHVL 804" in the bottom right corner. Gloss finish. No damage.
Comes with 2 stickers one brown one yellow. One has a crease on it.
The labels have "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD" text which confirms this issue as a first "corrected" issue. Later issues had "EMI RECORDS" text
The disc will be sent with a separate inner from the printed one to avoid any chance of splitting. Also included is a new plastic sleeve and the record will be sent in a custom made cardboard sleeve.
The vinyl plays as EX/EX (See below for definition)
- EXCELLENT ~ The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening of the sound quality. There may be some light crackle but NO major problems like LOUD clicks. Occasional soft tics are acceptable. There may be hairlines. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
I have just played this through for these listing purposes and I have to say is nice player with great stereo audio. Needless to say absolutely no sticks or skips etc.
THIS IS A SUPERB COPY OF AN ORIGINAL EXAMPLE OF THIS LANDMARK ALBUM.
I try to be accurate in my grading as I know what its like to buy miss graded items but won't insult you by writing song lyrics etc. If you feel I have not described this correctly I am happy to refund you providing I receive the item back in the same condition as it leaves me.
