Description
• Disc condition: VG+ - The disc is flat to the deck, no dishing or warping. Has moderate spindle wear, and the label looks bright and in super shape. The disc plays relatively quiet in the first section, with minimum crackle over all. Audio is more or less EX and disc looks near EX. "Money" track plays perfectly. (Some copies of the EMI UK pressed first edition is plagued with skips on this track). Punchy loud cut clear audio throughout.
• Sleeve condition: VG+ - Garrod & Loftouse UK printed matt finish gatefold sleeve with correctly sealed left hand panel. Black/blue tinged sleeve indicates it is correct to the first pressing. Light shelf wear with dinged bottom edge corner and a few light creases. Near EX.
• Matrix/stampers: (machine stamped) SHVL-804-A SHVL-804-B
• 1973 UK solid blue labels. On some sites this is regarded as a "likely Danish pressing", however, all indicators show it is much more likely to be a UK manufactured disc exported to Denmark for sale. The labels are exact to the first UK pressing with Made in Gt. Britian credits on labels. All Danish pressings from those days were legally bound to include NCB credits on labels and indeed check for yourself, they all state NCB on the labels. There are no NCB credits with this release. The matrix is missing mothers/stampers information and the matrix is not EMI pressing plant. EMI regularly used other plants to press export albums, and this one is no exception. From our research, we can see this is likely to be pressed at the Pye owned Tranco plant. (see last photo of a 1973 Pye plant pressing that shows exact same outer ring indentation as the Floyd pressing and same matrix font). Comes with an original polylined inner, but to be sure we have placed it in a new black polylined paper inner that the album would've come in anyway. Complete with two VG+ posters and 2 stickers, although these are unlikely original to this particular release, and possibly this version may have come without inserts anyway. A nice copy over all. don't miss it!
