This original UK double album plays with stunning audio and I have play tested every track as detailed below.

Only lightly played there is only a couple of very faint spindle traces on the first vinyl and 5/6 spindle lines on the second.  Both records still have a lustrous sheen.  There are no scratches and only a small number of faint sleeve removal hairlines on each side, they are visually very  impressive.  A couple of slightly more obvious ones on S1 but still faint and they have no affect on the quality of the stunning Mint audio whatsoever.

Play grading  

The power and precision of the audio on S1 is just awe-inspiring!  For a 30 year old LP to play with such definition is a rarity.  Whenever I sell one of these I always say that in my opinion this is one of the best produced 'live' albums of all time.  Turn the light off, turn up the volume and it's like you're there!  The depth and clarity on this side is quite simply immaculate.  The 'Shine On...' intro is stunning, so often beset with static/crackle there is none here.  This fantastic sound continues throughout and 'Learning To Fly' is another highlight and even the fade out on 'Round And Round' has no 'background'.  This side has the wow factor without doubt and is Mint- without doubt.

'Sorrow' on S2 has a minimal amount of quiet static on the intro which is very much in the background anyway.  It then plays with such a deep bass sound, as does the rest of the album, and is superb version.  'The Dogs Of War' has 3/4 static sounds on the intro and then impresses with breathtaking audio.  'On The Turning Away' plays with near perfection from the first note.  Such a quiet intro but there is barely any 'background'.  It then displays audio of the highest calibre, I don't think I have heard better.  It plays with a clarity and power that can only be graded as Mint- and the minus is only used as it isn't sealed.  The solo is just mesmerising, spine tingling!  What immense power and depth.  Actually this is Mint!

'One Of These Days' on S3 plays with stunning power although there are 5 clicks and some crackle on the intro in the 'audience' section prior to the music starting.  Once the music begins there is very little 'background' and as I say it plays very clearly and with superb all encompassing power.  The classics 'Time' and 'Money' play with immaculate precision and no obvious 'background' at all.  'Another Brick In The Wall' has audio of Mint quality without doubt.

There is some obligatory crackle on the S4 lead in and 'Wish You Were Here' has only light 'background' on the intro.  It then plays with great clarity and wonderful depth also.  'Comfortably Numb' is just Mint from beginning to end and the solo is breathtakingly powerful.  No distortion, it plays 'as new' - this is perhaps the greatest live rendition of this classic I have ever heard.  'Run Like Hell' displays dynamic power and is a perfect end to a superb album.

In summary this is a final upgrade archive copy in my opinion.  Yes there is a some 'background' on three of the intros but it is only 'momentary' ! and the music thereafter is of a superlative standard.

The Gatefold

The gatefold is in lovely condition with very little wear.  The edges have hardly any rubbing and the wide spine is in great shape with only a small number of tiny rubs on the top and bottom.  The corners have only very minimal wear.  The front and back covers are very clean with only a small number of indent type marks.  So often this cover is found in poor condition but this is certainly one of the cleanest I have seen in a long while.  The inside of the gatefold is in superb condition and is 'as new'.  The opening edges have next to no handling wear.  Overall a great example of this gatefold.

They are in perfect condition with no splits, tears or creasing, like new.

The labels

They are super clean with no marking or writing just a minimal amount of spindle wear, 2/3 mega faint lines only on the first vinyl and a little more on the second.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

The records have been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
