The second post-Roger Waters Pink Floyd album is less forced and more of a group effort than A Momentary Lapse of Reason -- keyboard player Richard Wright is back to full bandmember status and has co-writing credits on five of the 11 songs, even getting lead vocals on "Wearing the Inside Out." Some of David Gilmour's lyrics (co-written by Polly Samson and Nick Laird-Clowes of the Dream Academy) might be directed at Waters, notably "Lost for Words" and "A Great Day for Freedom," with its references to "the wall" coming down, although the more specific subject is the Berlin Wall and the fall of Communism. In any case, there is a vindictive, accusatory tone to songs such as "What Do You Want From Me" and "Poles Apart," and the overarching theme, from the album title to the graphics to the "I-you" pronouns in most of the lyrics, has to do with dichotomies and distinctions, with "I" always having the upper hand. Musically, Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Wright have largely turned the clock back to the pre-Dark Side of the Moon Floyd, with slow tempos, sustained keyboard chords, and guitar solos with a lot of echo.

(EXCERPT FROM AN ONLINE REVIEW BY WILLIAM RUHLMANN, ALL MUSIC GUIDE  /ALLMUSIC.COM/)

Original LP version of 'The Division Bell' was issued in 1994,  FOUR YEARS after the vinyl record as an audio format was officially pronounced dead , and the production of virtually all vinyl LPs “mysteriously” ceased, as if on cue (hint: major record labels had something to do with it). As a result, LP versions of this great Pink Floyd studio album are SHOCKINGLY hard to find today. Finding a still sealed original copy?!?! Forget it – not even a HOPE!!! This may be the last one you will ever see.

·       CONDITION:

·       THE RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID).

(b)          The record is believed to come in its original, custom, inner sleeve, which is UNIQUE to this album.

(c)             The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

·                               THE COVER

COVER IS NEAR MINT, STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP (A TINY PIECE OF SHRINK WRAP IS MISSING)

(PLEASE NOTE: THE SHRINK WRAP HAS SEPARATED ALONG ABOUT 10% OF THE OPENING SIDE, BUT THE ALBUM IS STILL VISIBLY SEALED)

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has one corner slightly worn (nothing significant)

-         Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine (BARELY VISIBLE)  (VISIBLE ON BACK SIDE ONLY)

NO OTHER VISIBLE FLAWS OR IMPERFECTIONS ON THE  COVER
