Description

A Complete set of Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" 1st UK Press Vinyl LP, SHVL 804 Harvest, 24th March, 1973 with ULTRA LOW stamper codes and rare earliest version paper posters. WOW!

Description:

A superb condition 1973 1st UK pressing of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" with impossibly low Mother & Stamper codes making this one of the earliest - "Day One" copies you are likely to find. The first pressing features A2/B2 matrix endings, solid blue triangle labels (quickly changed to outline blue triangle labels), black poly lined inner sleeve, a blue tinted gatefold sleeve, and 2 posters and stickers. *ULTRA* LOW MOTHERS & STAMPERS  (1M / 2H) place this VERY early in the pressing process making it the 1st Mother and 4th Stamper on side 1 and one of the 1st 1200 sides pressed. The disc is in outstanding condition with a NM grade that plays flawlessly - a rarity in itself for any 1st pressing of Dark Side of the Moon with many quiet passages vulnerable to playback imperfections including the iconic 'heartbeat' intro. This is a fine collectors piece including all of the original components including much rarer earliest version matte paper finish posters and not the later gloss finish versions. Also included are both original postcard stickers in unused condition, the original black poly-lined inner sleeve unique to Dark Side of the Moon and of course the original 'tinted' midnight blue sleeve, later issued in full black. This auction comprises a fantastic collector and listeners original and complete 1st UK set in superb condition that does not often come up with a NM play and visual grade with such low pressing identifiers. Don't miss!

Key Features:

  • Matrix: Side 1: SHVL 804 A2; Side 2: SHVL 804 B2 (1st Press Identifier)

Disc Visual Grade: NEAR MINT!
Under direct strong halogen spotlight the record has a superb gloss with no scratches or marks to report. A superb visual example of a difficult record to find in such fine condition. The disc sits completely flat on the turntable with no warping or dishing. The labels are clean and unworn.

The playback is faultless, there are quiet lead-ins to both sides including the long ‘heartbeat’ intro, an achievement in itself! There are no pops or clicks to detract from the music. Stunning!
