Description

PINK FLOYD 'The Dark Side Of The Moon'
A super copy - Clearly well cared for - Fully play graded - 19 photos below

This is a genuine UK 2nd press of 'The Dark Side Of The Moon'  with a crossover A3/B2 matrix. This version immediately followed the original pressings with the solid blue triangle on the labels and A2/B2 matrix and was issued in April 1973, just one month after the original release date (24th March, 1973).
It had a very limited run until Autumn 1973 when the label rim text was changed from 'The Gramophone Co' to the very common 'EMI Records' and A3/B3 matrix. Indeed, most 'Gramophone Co'  pressings with the outline prism labels also have the A3/B3 matrix.
GENUINE UK SECOND PRESS LP ON HARVEST; SHVL 804

CONDITION REPORT & PHOTO GALLERY AUDIO EXCELLENT; this has been completely play graded from start to finish at volume and both sides played through beautifully without jumping or sticking. The clarity of the audio was super throughout; bright and crisp.
There was just some very isolated light crackle here and there, but absolutely nothing that I felt was intrusive. No loud pops at all. Overall, the audio was great and the record provided a highly enjoyable listen.
VINYL (VISUAL): EXCELLENT; the heavyweight vinyl has retained a wonderful shine with very little at all noticeable under natural daylight. Bright light revealed just just some wispy sleeve removal type marks/hairlines and light scuffs. The record looks great and has clearly been well cared for.
Both labels look superb with just minimal light signs of use. No rips, tears or writing.
SLEEVE: The stickered gatefold sleeve is a very nice example and is one of the better examples of this fragile cover that I have seen. and grades EX/EXCELLENT(-). A little creasing to the exterior + some very mild partial ring wear to the rear. The interior centrefold looks great with just very light signs of age. The spine shows some wear but is firm and intact. Overall, it looks great. More than presentable.
POSTERS & STICKERS: Both posters are completely unused and show just the very lightest signs of handling, if any at all. Both grade EX(+)/NEAR MINT.
Both stickers are also completely unused and bear the original red 'PERMANENT' stamp to the rear. The yellow one is EXCELLENT(+) with just a light crease line to the rear. The brown one shows quite a bit of creasing and grades conservatively as VERY GOOD.

PAYMENT & CHECKOUT
Please remember that your bid is binding.
I reserve the right to cancel bids from buyers whose previous feedback ratings are poor.

GRADING

Unless otherwise stated, all of my records have been play tested before listing using a Rega P3-24 turntable with Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge & stylus. I describe honestly and accurately but please bear in mind that I am only human and such things are always subjective. I tend to grade records conservatively and believe that my feedback speaks for itself.

Please take confidence from the fact that I have been a collector myself for over 20 years (please check my feedback as a buyer) and know only too well how disappointing it is to receive an inaccurately described record.

I also grade visually using a strong halogen lamp.

I use the Record Collector grading system as shown below.

POSTAGE / SHIPPING

I post worldwide and pack all records in custom made (stiff) card mailers and add extra packaging inside to ensure a safe delivery. I will provide a protective polythene sleeve and the record and inner will be removed from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits in transit. I want your record to get to you in the condition that it was when it left me.

For any records that come with printed inner sleeves, I will also provide an additional plain inner.

As a general rule, shipping will be discounted ie. I lose money on the costs of buying my packaging. I do not profit from this; please remember that my costs are not simply those shown on the stamp!

CUSTOMS DECLARATIONS FOR OVERSEAS ORDERS: Please note that for overseas orders from outside the EU I am obliged to complete a customs declaration and must enter the true value of the package's contents on the declaration. It is the BUYER'S responsibility to ensure that all import duties are known and paid.

Please send me a message if anything is unclear and I will be happy to help.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
