Description

Over the next few weeks and months I will be listing a quite lovely collection of Pink Floyd albums.
These will all be at least decent playing copies, but mostly will be of excellent quality, some even better than that. They will include some UK 1st pressings, and if not they will be extremely early pressings. All matrix/mother/stamper combinations will be listed (so long as they are readable!) so you can tell exactly what you are bidding on. All gradings are by visual examination and by play-grading,  strictly to record collector guidelines.
So here we have a fantastic copy of Pink Floyds iconic album from 1973. "Dark side of the moon". The matrices of A2 and B2 put this as the very first UK pressing. Mothers and stampers are 3 PR  and 2 OL. Very very early pressing.

The cover grades as a strong VG+. Has the usual rubbing wear to the dark blue card. These blue covers were very prone to this colour loss. The cover is extremely solid with virtually no wear to edges or spine. A very nice example of the original midnight blue outer sleeve.
The original inner sleeve is excellent, and has no damage, tears, slits or rips. This has, of course, the patent numbers and made in Great Britain text in silver. Please note, the vinyl is now stored in a new anti-static inner sleeve.

The vinyl surfaces visually are a nice deep glossy black. There is a light mark to each side. These 2 marks CANNOT be felt. They are surface only.
The sound quality has been fully play-graded, strictly to record collector guidelines. Side one starts off really well with the difficult heartbeat intro. The side plays really well until the segue between tracks 3 & 4, where there are 6 light ticks. The rest of the side plays without issue. Side two ( no skip on "Money"), there are 10 soft ticks leading into track 2. "Us and them" has some light background in the quietest sections. This side plays great to the end. As the last track finishes, there is some surface noise on the run-out. Overall, this may sound far worse than it actually is. I am just trying to be 100% honest and maybe slightly brutal in my assessment! Graded as Ex- overall.
The 2 posters are in almost perfect condition. No issues. The 2 stickers have both, at some stage, been caught in the gatefold cover hinge, as so many did. This has caused a little creasing, but otherwise these are in a nice unused condition.
Posters are printed on a heavy fully matte paper, unlike later glossy ones. These are in fine shape and grade as excellent.
The 2 stickers are the earliest type, with the word "permanent" in red print to the rear. Both have been caught in the hinge of the gatefold cover in their time and have a light crease in part. Grade as VG+.
The solid blue triangle small sticker is mint.
The additional artwork postcard is excellent.
The artwork coaster is mint.
The artwork gel pen is mint.
The DVD of the making of the album is also in great condition and plays fine.

To find a UK 1st pressing of this iconic album is not in itself difficult. There are many for sale. Many of those are pretty trashed. Being so highly collectable with its solid blue triangle labels, even the trashed make a decent price. To find anything that plays with no issues requires a mortgage to be taken out! This is a kind of half way house. Not in the least bit trashed. It is far far better than that, but does not quite get top billing. If you are looking for a really good copy that plays with great clarity and detail, but do not want to pay £1000 or more, I suggest you have a good think over this one. I promise you, the winner WILL NOT be disappointed.

All albums will be housed in a brand new heavy duty polythene cover. All vinyl's will be housed in a new anti-static inner sleeve. I pack my albums for transit in the most secure packaging imaginable and send next day delivery postage with The Royal Mail. I only charge exactly what it costs me, sometimes less!

I accept returns if I am notified as soon as possible after you receive the album. This has to be due to it being wrongly described. Not just for a change of mind. I take the time to provide quality photographs of the album, along with a detailed description, so please respect this.
I will post overseas, but not to Russia, Belarus or Ukraine. Postage within the EU is around £17. Worldwide postage is around £26. If these prices differ once I have packed and weighed them, I will refund the difference immediately.
If you have any questions, or require more photos, just let me know.
Many excellent Floyd titles still to be listed (over 100), so please keep an eye out for my future sales. Maybe add me as a favourite seller for my latest listings.

Good luck if you decide to bid.
