Description

Pink Floyd ?– The Dark Side Of The Moon

1st press with the following 1st press attributes:

1. The label has a solid blue prism. Subsequent pressings have a blue glowing inner edge prism with the centre black.
2. 'The Gramophone Co.' text is centred on label above prism.
3. A2/B2 matrix in deadwax of run out groove. ALSO '2' 'OP' / '2' 'MG' MOTHERS AND STAMPERS.
4. Thick heavyweight 135 GRAM vinyl, believed by some to be the 'finest' and most true encapsulation of this historical recording as the first pressing was pressed direct from the original masterplate. "These 1st pressings were straight from the masters and nothing even gets close to them today. They play with a deep clear warm clarity and have to be heard to be believed!".
5. There is a distinct bluish tint/tinge in the black ink of the cover.
6. Gatefold sleeve is 'folded in' and factory sealed at one end. [To identify the original the cover must have the 'folded in' flap and not just be two sides 'glued' together]. ALSO HAS THE BLUE TEXT INSIDE THE GATEFOLD, WITH NOT TEXT AT ALL ON THE SPINE.
7. Inner sleeve is a distinctive polythene lined die cut black semi matt paper with white printed text stating 2 patent numbers bottom left [112555/1072844] and 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN' bottom right.

COMES WITH 2 REPRODUCTION POSTERS AND STICKERS WHICH WERE BOUGHT SEPERATELY AND ARE HIGH QUALITY AND IDENTICAL TO THE ORIGINALS IN EVERY WAY. THESE ARE AS NEW. EVERYTHING ELSE IS 100% ORIGINAL

    Notes?

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London between June 1972 and January 1973.
This is the original form of the release, it has solid blue prism LP picture labels, later forms have an empty prism. It has a gatefold sleeve, with one sleeve glued shut.

The cover lists the titles 1 to 5 on both sides. The labels however number the tracks from (a) to (i) so, for example, "Breathe" is listed as "(a)(II)" on the label but "2" on the cover (see images).

SITS FLAT ON THE DECK/ NOT WARPED

ALL UNMARKED AND COMPLETE, EXCEPT FOR A TAG ON THE LABEL..SEE BELOW

CONDITION VINYL: PLAYED ABOUT 5 TIMES EACH SIDE JUDGING FROM THE SPINDLE MARKS. HAS A NICE GLOSSY SHEEN ON BOTH SIDES. LABELS ARE PERFECT WITH NO TEARS, MARKS OR BLEMISHES, APART FROM SIDE 1 WHICH HAS ID GUN TAG WITH INITIALS ON IT WHICH IS VERY SMALL AND QUITE INCONSPICOUS - SEE PHOTO. I HAVE DONE THREE TESTS WITH THIS LP. THE FINGER FEEL TEST - NOTHING FELT. INSPECTED UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT - WHICH REVEALS A FEW VERY FINE HAIRLINE SCRATCHES ON ONE SIDE, BUT THERE ARE NO SCUFFS OR ANYTHING OBVIOUS. YOU CAN ONLY SEE THESE HAIRLINE SCRATCHES UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT AND CLOSE UP.. AND THE PLAY TEST WHICH REVEALS NO DISTORTION ANYWHERE, PLAYS CLEAR AND LOUD. THE FINE SCRATCHES THERE CAN ONLY BE HEARD IN THE QUIETEST OF PASSAGES.

CONDITION INNER: VG+. SMALL CLEAR PIECE OF TAPE AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THE DISCS PUTS PRESSURE ON THE BOTTOM CENTRAL PART.

CONDITION SLEEVE: STRUCTURALLY ALL FINE WITH NO TEARS AND SPINE IS FINE. INSIDE THE GATEFOLD IS ALL FINE. SO VG+ STRUCTURALLY. VISUALLY ILL GRADE I VG BECAUSE IT HAS SOME SURFACE RING WEAR FRONT AND BACK. NO PEN OR ANY OTHER MARKS ON THE SLEEVE. ALSO SOME TOP AND BOTTOM EDGE WEAR BUT OPENING EDGE IS OK

Mint (M) - Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed.

Near MINT or NM. - May have been played once or twice but the overall look is as new. Any faint marks will not be audible when played

Excellent plus or EX+ - Similar to Near Mint but may have a few more faint marks

Excellent or EX MINUS. Looks new from a distance but close up will reveal some very light marks or faint scuffs. The record will play very well with hardly any audible background noise and usually none at all

Very Good Plus or VG+ - Marks and light scratches are more visible even from a distance and some of these will be audible but not too bad. Some crackle will be audible though light

Very Good or VG - Record may have light and medium scratches/scuffs over both sides, which will be audible and causing a light to moderate background crackle.

Good + - Heavy crackle and an obvious presence of multiple light and moderate scratches over both sides causing moderate to heavy crackle. There may also be pops but the record should play through without jumps or skating. Only higher value records will be presented in this condition.

Fair or Good - In really bad shape. Same as above and there may be some jumps although the record should not allow the needle to 'skate'. Only higher value records will be presented in this condition.

Please note that delivery times can vary a lot. Sometimes it has taken 6 weeks or more for some destinations in other countries, for reasons not known to us. If in doubt it is best to check with your local Post Sorting office to see if there is anything there for you as large packets will often be returned there, left with a neigbour, or left outside somewhere. Sometimes the postman will not always leave a note. We will not consider refunds on lost items until this 6 week term
