MEDDLE

1971 UK HARVEST SHVL-795

A-3 - B-1U

Rare original A-3 - B-1U early uk first issue in brilliant clean playing condition. The thick vinyl is in beautiful EX++ to very NM condition and the original thin card fully textured Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover is in EX++ condition with no faults, the original Harvest advertising inner is in very good condition.

This excellent original uk copy plays and sounds amazing throughout, this is actually the best playing copy of 'Meddle' that i have ever come across, this album can look perfect and still have crackle and pop but this copy plays with barely any at all with a superb clean and clear sound quality throughout, this early copy has been barely played and will not disappoint.

EARLY PRESS A3 - B-1U VINYL = EX++

The original thick vinyl is in stunning EX++ condition, in normal light there are no surface marks, scuffs or scratches to mention, in harsh bright light there are some very feint sleeve withdrawal traces and a few ultra-fine top surface hairlines, these are so fine and feint that they obviously have no effect on play at all. This is actually the best playing copy of 'Meddle' that i have ever come across, this album has some very quiet passages that will amplify every little bit of background crackle but this copy plays like a dream throughout and displays almost none at all, this album looks and plays near new with a near faultless clean and clear sound quality from beginning to end. A top original copy of one of Floyd's best albums.

EARLY HARVEST LABELS = EX+

These are the early labels with the 'Gramophone Co Ltd' rim text, later issues had the 'EMI Records' text. Both labels are in nice and clean EX+/NM condition with no faults at all, just a few short light spindle traces on each side due to very careful play.

G&L 'SOUNDWAVES ON AN EAR' FULLY TEXTURED G&L GATEFOLD = EX+

This is the earliest Garrod & Lofthouse printed gatefold sleeve that is fully textured inside and out, some slightly later covers were textured on the outside front and back only. This fully textured gatefold was made from slightly thinner card than standard album jackets of the time, many of these original 'Meddle' covers suffer from very noticeable storage wear and because they were made from thinner card they were prone to back edge seem splits where the vinyl edge would sometimes poke through, this cover has no front/back storage wear at all and the edges are almost perfect having just tiny amounts of storage wear near some of the corner tips, the spine is excellent and again there are only some small narrow slithers of light wear right at the top and bottom, all text is perfectly clear and very easy to read. Like the vinyl this is probably the best example of this fully textured Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover that i have ever come across, it's almost perfect and simply looks superb.

ORIGINAL HARVEST ADVERTISING INNER SLEEVE = VG

This original Harvest records poly-lined advertising inner sleeve grades as very good condition, it's actually visually in excellent condition but like so many of these inners the clear polythene lining has come away from the outer paper inner, apart from the lose lining there are no other faults, it's still nice and clean with minimal marking and barely any creasing at all. The vinyl has spent many years inside a plain white poly-lined inner for extra protection, both will be sent to the winning bidder.

A truly great original early uk issue that would be very hard to beat.

I pack my records very well, the album will be removed from the outer cover to avoid seem/edge splits in transit, plenty of rigid cardboard support will be used to avoid corners bending, this album will reach you in the same condition as advertised.
