Description

PINK FLOYD MEDDLE A4/B3 (very early pressing)
This very early pressing is in wonderful condition.  This gatefold is fully textured but not as heavily as the first 1U/1U pressings.  It is in fantastic condition nonetheless and is nigh on perfect.
Visual grading
The vinyl is in wonderful condition for 45 years old and I can only detect a few faint hairlines on each side under a bright light and one small fingerprint mark on Side One but there are certainly no scratches.  The hairlines I am sure are caused by sleeve removal.  The vinyl retains that glossy lustre and is in excellent shape for a very early press and lies perfectly flat on the turntable.
Play grading
Having played the LP in its entirety I can confirm the audio plays very clearly with very little interference.  There is almost no lead in static prior to 'One Of These Days' and then plays with wonderful clarity throughout with just the odd static sound but no crackle.  'A Pillow of Winds' has sublime audio again with just one pop.  'Fearless' plays loud and clear again but with a little interference and 3/4 pops.  'San Tropez' plays almost as Mint and 'Seamus' ends proceedings with very clear audio and just a hint of static/interference.
The iconic 'Echoes' begins with only a hint of static and one pop but then plays with excellent depth of sound.  There is a little static here and there but overall it plays to a very high quality and there is certainly no crackle, just a little intermittent distortion.  A couple of pops toward the end but overall a wonderful listen.   Gatefold cover
This textured cover is in near perfect condition.  The edges, spine and the opening edge have almost no wear, they are superbly clean.  At first glance it looks 'as new' if I'm honest.  To be mega picky there is the slightest of rubbing on the bottom right hand corner.  The front and back cover have no marking at all and look stunning.  The inside of the gatefold is also in fantastic shape.  The 'white nature' of it lends itself to deterioration down the years but here the lightly textured inside looks absolutely stunning.
Inner sleeve
This has the original white polylined inner with the "Plastic bags can be dangerous" label.  It is in excellent condition with no splits or marks.
Labels
The yellow/green labels are in superb condition with no marks or writing and minimal spindle wear.
