PINK FLOYD : MORE 1G/1G (one EMI logo on labels)
This is a very early first pressing of 'More' featuring the soundtrack from the film of the same name. Being such an early pressing it has the 1G/1G matrix numbers and of course has the couple facing west on the green tinted rear cover. What makes it an even earlier pressing is that it only has a single EMI logo on each label. One thing worth noting is that there is no mother number on the Side Two label. The stamper letters are RH and at 9pm there are only two dots stamped. How rare this is I don't know but I have never seen it before and there is no reference to it on pinkfloydarchives.com, the 'bible' of all things Pink Floyd.

Visual grading
For a vinyl produced in 1969 it still remains visually in great order. There are a couple of fine scratches on Side One and one 'thicker' hairline mark across the side but they have very little bearing on the audio as described below. Side Two only has a couple of very faint hairlines. Overall the vinyl is in wonderful condition for a very early first pressing and retains a loverly glossy sheen. There is also only a little spindle wear on the labels.
Play grading
I have played the LP in its entirety and overall the audio plays fantastically well with only nominal interference. For such a quiet track 'Cirrus Minor' plays very well with only a little crackle and about six light clicks about one minute in. 'The Nile Song' plays superbly well with a little distortion which is very common with this LP. 'The Crying Song' has absolutely stunning audio with minimal interference, just one pop. Actually the audio is breathtaking here, I have never heard better and for 47 years old you would be hard pressed to find better. This quality continues although 'Cymbaline' does play a little quietly in the mix. 'Party Sequence' ends the side with near perfection again.
'Main Theme' plays with wonderfully clear audio again and only the slightest of static, hardly worth mentioning really. 'More Blues' and 'Quicksilver' are two of the quietest tracks Floyd have recorded and yet they both have incredible depth and quality. The latter especially is amazing, I do not think I have heard better. The final two tracks unsurprisingly play extremely well with just a little static and distortion on 'Dramatic Theme'.
In summary this vinyl has outstanding audio and will not disappoint and for such an early 1G/1G pressing this is without doubt one of the best I have heard. Accept for the clicks on 'Cirrus Minor' there is so little interference the clarity is superb for a vinyl of 47 years. A great addition to any collection.
Cover
The G & L laminated cover has three flipbacks on the reverse and is in excellent condition for its age. The edges have hardly any shelf wear and are in superb shape as is the thin pinched spine which remains 100% legible. There is a some creasing on the laminate more obvious on the top right and bottom left hand corners. The opening edge also has some light handling wear as you would expect.
The iconic green tinted back cover with the couple facing west is in wonderful condition. So often you see the flipbacks with a high degree of staining/marks but not on this one, just a minimal amount. As can be seen these are very clean and is one of the better ones I have seen.
Inner sleeve
The die-cut polylined inner sleeve is in excellent shape with no splits or tears just some light creasing. It is advertising 'Ummagumma' and 'The Madcap Laughs' amongst others.
Labels
The labels, with just one EMI logo on each side, are in superb condition with very little spindle wear and no writing/marks.
Text around the top edge of the label starts at 8 o'clock and says "The Gramophone Co., Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorised public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited"
The text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 6 o'clock and says "Made in GT Britain".
