Pink Floyd's 1967 debut album is one of the best and most musically consistent and essential psychedelic rock albums ever recorded.

This rare stereo copy is in very good+ condition having just a few surface marks and some fine hairlines. The E.J.Day front laminated flip-back sleeve is in excellent condition. This issue has the 1-R & 1-R mother/stamper codes, this means that this copy is from the third batch of the early original 1967 pressings. I am unsure about the pressing history of original UK 1967 Mono/Stereo blue/black columbia issues but original Mono copies seem to greatly outnumber Stereo copies, there are always a few mono's on ebay but original blue/black Stereo copies very rarely surface for sale.

1ST PRESS STEREO VINYL VG+

Both sides of the vinyl are visually in very good+ condition. Both sides still have a nice original sheen but with just a few random surface marks and some very fine hairlines. This rare album plays very well throughout, there is some background hiss/crackle and the odd sporadic tic but there are no nasty deep marks that cause continuous loud clicks or pops. On the track 'Bike' there is a short very narrow fuzzy looking mark that goes in the same direction as the grooves, this small mark causes three short pops, there are two heard and then after a few more turns there is another one, there is also one pop during the quiet intro to 'Astronomy Domine', these are the more audible tics that stand out, any others are much lighter and much more behind the music. The sound quality to this album is still very good with no noticeable distortion or groove wear. The vinyl has a very minor edge warp which really is only slight and has no affect on play at all.

This is just a very decent original uk stereo copy of The Pink Floyd's fantastic essential 1967 debut psych-rock album.

BLUE BLACK STEREO COLUMBIA LABELS = EX

Both blue/black stereo columbia labels are in excellent condition with minimal wear and marking.

E.J.DAY FRONT LAMINATED FLIP-BACK SLEEVE = EX-

The front laminated flip-back sleeve was made and printed in the uk by Ernest.J.Day & Co Ltd. This cover is in very nice condition and grades excellent-. The front lamination is still glossy and reflective with just a few very small lamination half-moon shifts towards the opening edge and just a few light corner creases at the top and bottom of the spine. The top and bottom edges are great apart a small area of wear at their centers, the spine is in excellent shape, there is no wear along the spine and all text is very clear and easy to read. The grey back cover is still nice and clean with minimal wear and marking. The three flip-backs are nice and clean, there is a very very narrow slightly scruffy area at the centre of the bottom flip-back, this is very minor and can clearly be seen in the photos provided. This E.J.Day cover still looks in excellent condition and has no major defects.

ORIGINAL EMI ADVERTISING INNER = EX+

The original emi advertising paper inner sleeve is in EX+ very clean and tidy condition. This is the correct original inner sleeve for the 1967 issue of 'Pink Floyd's Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' with the 'Both Sides Of Manfred Mann LP' advertised on one side and the 'Beatles Revolver LP' advertised on the other, this inner also has correct 'Patents Applied For' text along the bottom edge.
