PINK FLOYD - PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN
on COLUMBIA RECORDS -SX6157 - MONO (1967) - very early UK 1st Pressing on "blue spot" Columbia label.
An extremely Rare 1967 first pressing issue of Pink Floyd's legendary first Album, bought shortly after it's first release in 1967.
Heavyweight Vinyl is in very good condition. It has seen some play, there are some light marks but they do not badly affect playing, it plays excellent, with a little background noise but no jumps. Blue and Black Columbia "Blue Spot" Labels are in very good condition, with some light spindle wear and marks, there is a "KT" tax code embossed on label side 1.
The original laminated flipover sleeve printed by E. J. Day is in very good condition, excellent spine, some light edge and laminate creasing, clean front and back, there is a 3cm short bit of the "flipover" missing on the rear right-hand corner, just after the writing "6709 TPS Printed and made by Ernest J Day & Co. Ltd. London", fortunately this does not detract too much from an otherwise excellent sleeve, the corner is still there and it is not torn. (see photo) There are some very small short black lines drawn after the song titles on the black part of the back sleeve, these are small and hard to notice, I have done my best to show them in the photos, and they could well be cleaned off, but I am not going to try. The original emi/columbia advertising inner sleeve is in excellent condition, there is a short split at bottom.
matrix / pressing no's are : XAX 3419-2 (1-GA) and XAX 3420-1 (1-GH) - a very early pressing!
