Here's a chance to own the excellent legendary LP.
THE PINK FLOYD as they were titled, were once an obscure psychedelic band predominantly known among Joe Boyd's London 'UFO Club' regulars. Those 'hippy' youths weren't so Interested in the novel pop excursions of the singles, even though The Floyd cut strange & wonderful trippy pop-psych 45s!
The music here was more like what was 'happening' with the psychedelic crowd, an avant garde artistic invention that was more about sound-effects and the oil lamps light show. Far out and strangely hypnotic as a live group, for 'Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' the pop singles were not included.
Roger 'Syd' Barrett steered the band brilliantly, and these tracks represent his craft & influence - a COMPLETELY OUTSTANDING album!!
It was after this astounding lp that his spirit burned out beyond reviving and they carried on without him - leaving their inventive protagonist as a lost cause.
This stands as his finest moment, and this is a quality UK pressing to treasure!
CONDITION;
The VINYL is EXCELLENT- overall, having superb full shine and marvelous rainbow sheen.
There are a couple of surface lines not affecting the playing, 'Pow R. Toc H' plays well but has a couple of slight clicks.
Labels are in NM- condition, spindle lines only at the centre.
The LAMINATED 'FLIPBACK' COVER grades VG, the laminate has a few wrinkles - no stickers or pen - some staining spots to the rear. Ernest J. Day & Co credit at bottom corner. This is solid card, some wear to the bottom edge.
