Every so often I help a local hospice sell its more collectable LPs on ebay. Just in is a fresh batch which includes some highly prized LPs. Each LP I list will be played in its entirety before listing to give an accurate analysis of its audio condition.
My listening equipment is a highly revealing Roksan Xerxes/Artemiz/Shiraz turntable, JDI pre/power amplification and Castle speakers.
Played on that system, this LP is something of a curate's egg. Track 1 on side one has a small scratch which produces a couple of seconds of quick short jumps and clicks. There's some minor background noise between tracks and occasional quiet parts. There's also some occasional distortion to loud passages. Having said all that, side one is still pretty good. Side two however has a bigger problem with distortion. Much of the opening track - Interstellar Overdrive - suffers from it during loud passages, mainly through the right channel. The rest of the side is generally fine with any transient distortion being much less noticeable. The audio quality may be system dependent and it could be that your turntable is more forgiving. Or you may simply want to bid on this historic LP for pride of ownership, regardless of any playback issues.
The laminated flipback cover is in excellent condition and it might be worth bidding just for that alone. There's a tiny patch of discolouration to the top right corner (see photo) and apart from that it's excellent.
Watch out for future Listings
I've got 20+ of these "hospice" LPs to list. Ebay rules mean I can't tell you what they are, but let's just say that one of them has a solid blue triangle on the label. Once I've play graded them I will list them, so please add me to your favourites.

On the subject of postal prices, I believe I offer very good P&P value and here's why: I wrap the album in bubblewrap. I then doublewrap it horizontally in thick corrugated card. I then doublewrap it vertically in corrugated card. This gives lots of protective cushioning and stiffness - the package is usually about an inch thick by the time I've finished. I then wrap it in brown paper and address it. This involves a lot of time and a lot of materials. I then send it first class. All for just £2.50 UK.
