Pink Floyd-Piper At The Gates Of Dawn LP UK Columbia SCX 6157 from 1967 UK 1st issue with NO File Under on rear cover. Matrix YAX-3419/3420-1. 'Sold In UK...'wording on the label.
This is a nice copy of Pink Floyd's debut LP-their only LP where their initial creative force Syd Barrett is the major influence. This is the original stereo issue and this is how you want to hear this album-one that uses stereo effects very much.
The hype around the Mono LP due to it having some different mixes is all well and good BUT if you want to hear this LP as it was meant this 1st UK issue in stereo is THE one (unless you can find the Japanese 1st issue on maroon vinyl at all and for under 4 figures)!
Condition is nice. The sleeve (no File Under) is in excellent condition-a few minor laminate creases and a little darkening around the edges of the flaps on the back cover are peripheral things. The only real wear is on the top edge where there is an inch of loss/wear that is just causing it to open slightly.
Absolutley no writing, marks etc. A top sleeve-still a very strong new feel and grades around VG+to EX-.
Original EMI inner bag.
The disc is in excellent shape overall-nice clean/sharp labels with the KT code on one.
There are 2 or 3 real marks but essentially a really nice clean copy and a great play.
ORIGINAL UK 1ST STEREO ISSUE THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE HEARD.
