Description
Pink Floyd---"Piper At The Gates Of Dawn"---Original UK 1st Pressed MONO Album In EX+ Playing/VG Condition On The Blue/Black Columbia "Sold In U.K." Label--- -2 and -1From 1967---This One Is A Great Playing Copy Of This Mono Rarity!!
This is a UK copy from 1967 in mono on the blue/black Columbia label, cat. no. SX 6157 with matrices -2 and -1 and mothers/stampers 1 T & 2 GD.
Vinyl: EX+. The vinyl is in lovely condition with a great shine and just a few tiny surface marks. It plays with superb audio having a little light crackle between tracks A1 and A2, then the rest is really, really clear and, at least NM. At the very start of side 2 there is just a little distortion on the heavy solo bass line start of track B1, but again the rest is closer to NM.
Labels: EX+. The K T tax code (side 1) and "Sold In U.K." labels are in very nice condition with virtually no markings. There is fairly heavy spindle wear on both sides but the vinyl had been handled carefully in the past.
Sleeve: VG. The flipback sleeve is in very solid condition with some slightly heavy edge and corner wear. The back has quite a lot of discolouration but the flips are nice and solid.
Inserts: This copy comes with 2 ultra rare press inserts. The first is a letter from Pye Records Press Service and this is an introduction/history of the band and the second is a stapled 8 page pack with the typed lyrics of all the songs on the album. This is a very nice added bonus making this copy rarer than normal.
With a low start price you could get yourself a real bargain.
Many thanks for looking at this and our other vinyl to be auctioned.
