PINK FLOYD – PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN – SX 6157
1967 Columbia mono recording, catalogue number SX 6157 – Pink Floyd: The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. This is a mono LP disc, blue/black label with "Sold in UK" text. Matrix Nos. are (side 1) XAX 3419-2 and (side 2) XAX 3420-1. Special Note – The sleeve does not match the disc. Sleeve is the stereo version, catalogue number SCX 6157, with "File under POPULAR: Pop Groups" on top right rear.
The disc is in overall excellent clean and shiny condition. There is a very light scratch on side 1. On side 2 there is an area of very light surface marks (probably caused by removal from inner sleeve). We have listened very carefully to the whole of both sides and the only fault we can detect is one faint tick at the end of track 4 on side 2. Sound quality throughout is really excellent.
The original EMI advertising inner is in excellent condition, clean and intact with some creasing at corners. Sleeve is intact but has creasing and scuffing at edges and corners plus record impress. Front has laminate puckering and an orange label on front (see photo). Rear is grubby and has ink hand-written track timings.
