Pink Floyd - Piper At The Gates of Dawn
XAX 3419-2 1/GD
XAX 3420-1 1/G
Has the matrix stamps of a 1st press (-2/-1) but as it has "File under POPULAR : Pop Groups" on the back top right corner of the sleeve, some consider it a reissue/second press. I am not complete sure on this as the matrix stamps show a 1st pressing so I'll leave this up to the buyer to decide.
Correct and original inner sleeve with "Patents applied for"
Rare Mono variant. By 1967 Mono was being phased out as Stereo was becoming the norm. Mono's are a lot harder to find than Stereo copies.
I also have other Pink Floyd records up for sale so make sure to check them out.
VINYL: VG/VG+
Visually, it's VG but the audio is probably a lot closer to VG+. There are light hairlines and marks on both sides but nothing major. One feelable mark but NO continuous or loud clicking/popping is produced. There is a soft level of 'static' background noise on the run-in grooves, between tracks and quieter passages (although not many quiet passages) but in no way is it overpowering or ever distracting from the audio. The audio is still loud and punchy throughout both sides with the odd sporadic click or pop, nothing ever nasty or repetitive. No nasty hiss or crackle, just some soft static type surface noise as described above. These 60's pressings are known for the quality and durability and it really does show on this copy. Nice deep grooves and great audio. A pleasure to listen to front start to finish.
SLEEVE: VG+
No rips or seam splits and no writing. Flip-back has no breaks or rips either. Straight edges.
LABELS: VG
Some wear to the centre hole but nothing bad. A few age spots but no writing or rips.
