Genuine 1st press Mono in excellent condition. The sleeve includes the text: "File under POPULAR : Pop Groups". The vinyl has its original high sheen and well cared for. Under bright light, just a few light hairlines are visible.
I have played the entire record on my Rega RP3 with ELYS2 cartridge and it sounds fantastic
Here is a genuine piece of musical history - an excellent copy of Pink Floyd's first ever LP!
This has the following 1st press matrix numbers and mother stampers:
Side 1: XAX 3419-1 1 H
Side 2: XAX 3420-1 1 L
Detailed description
Vinyl:
The vinyl looks great and has retained its original bright high sheen. It has clearly been well cared for. Under bright light, just a few hairlines were visible but there is nothing significant anywhere to see. I have played the entire record and it sounds fantastic with almost nothing to report. Ex.
This is an excellent example and was a real pleasure to listen to. Both sides play-grades Excellent. With clean dynamic audio and only the slightest of background crackle.
Labels:
Both labels look superb with just very light spindle marking, suggesting that the record was not played very much. The side 2 label also has the KT tax code stamped near the centre hole.
Sleeve:
This is an original, complete example with the text: "File under POPULAR : Pop Groups" printed on the top flip-back. It is very clean with no damage at all, writing, splits, tears or stickers etc and just light signs of use.
The spine is solid and firm and the text is all 100% readable.
There are just very light signs of use at the opening and there is minimal wear at the corners.
Inner sleeve:
Original black and white earliest EMI advertising inner sleeve. No splits, tears or damage, just minor signs of age and use.
