Description
This copy is a genuine mono first pressing with the first allocated matrix numbers XAX 3419-2 G 1 & XAX 3420-1 G 1, this is one of only a handful of such copies. Ernest J. Day flip back cover does NOT have “File under POPULAR: Pop Groups” at top right hand corner as latter pressings have. What sets this copy apart from ‘the handful’ and makes it unique is the fact that it has been pressed with side 1 labels on both sides. There is a loose 3rd label (side 2) which should have been placed over the wrong label. It looks like this side 2 label was never attached. The LP has been pressed correctly and has the correct matrix numbers on the corresponding sides, it’s only the labelling that went astray. It may have been a copy pressed when they were first setting up the press for production. Laminated sleeve is complete, no damage, some discolouration on back, some light creasing on front, slight wear at corners (see pictures). Record is warp free, it weighs 145 grams. Spindle wear is very slight (see pictures). The correct side 1 label has the K T tax stamp. Both sides of the record have light marks across surface, nothing major. LP plays without sticking or jumping. There are a few light ‘clicks’ and ‘pops’ when playing but the sound from the record is so strong that they are hardly noticeable.
