PINK FLOYD - THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN LP
ORIGINAL UK 1967 FIRST PRESSING
SX6157 - BLUE/BLACK COLUMBIA MONO
Sleeve Printed by E.J. DAY & Co LTD
MONO PRESSING
Blue and Black Columbia Label
Made in Great Britain
This is Pink Floyds RARE mono first album which is very much sought after by both Pink Floyd and Psychedelic fans. It displays the genius of Syd Barrett at his Psychedlic best.
COVER:
The front laminated cover is in excellent condition, has some lamination creases but no rips or tears. The flip back rear of the cover is in fair condition with signs of wear and fading (see picture).
VINYL:
Although the majority of the record is in good condition, the overall condition of the vinyl must be described as poor due to a mark/scratch on side two (track 3) that causes the stylist to stick twice when using a lightweight pickup. However when I used my Hacker 1960 record player with a Garrard deck the track played all the way through although the mark does sound.
The rest of the vinyl plays well, there is another scratch at the end of side one which does not sound. Apart from the scratch, mark mentioned above there are some other light marks on the vinyl but these do not affect play.
LABELS:
Both record labels are in very good condition, clean and bright with no writing.
DUST JACKET:
Original dust jacket in VG condition which advertises 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' album (see picture).
Very rare and highly collectable Pink Floyd MONO LP on the original COLUMBIA Label
