THE PINK FLOYD
THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN
1967 UK STEREO 1 Box EMI COLUMBIA SCX 6157
YAX 3419-1 (1-GM)
YAX 3419-1 (1-GO)
Here is a very nice condition uk stereo pressing of The Pink Floyd's superb debut psych album. It's a slightly later UK pressing but it is still a very rare issue with the early 'Gramophone Co.Ltd' label text with only the one EMI boxed logo. It also comes with a nice condition G&L flipback sleeve with the slightly later white back, the very 1st UK pressings came with a E.J.Day sleeve with a grey back with white flipbacks.
This rare uk 1-box stereo copy is a great alternative to spending a small fortune on the original 1st press blue/black COLUMBIA issue.

5. Pow R. Toc H.

The thick chunky vinyl is clean and glossy with just a few very light scuffs and just a few feint wispy lines and hairlines, both sides play near excellent throughout with minimal light hiss/crackle, there are no nasty deep surface marks so there are no loud clicks/pops. A very nice thick pressed early second issue that looks and plays great.
Both labels are excellent with minimal wear/marking, as already stated this is a early second pressing that has the 'GRAMOPHONE.CO.LTD' rim text and 'MADE IN GT. BRITAIN' text at the bottom, there is also only the one boxed EMI logo, later issues had two boxed EMI logo's and are far easier to find than this much rarer early UK second pressing.
The front laminated flip-back sleeve is made by Garrod & Lofthouse and grades as near excellent condition. The front still looks superb and the lamination is still very glossy and reflective having just a few light lamination creases/shifts to the top right corner and just a few more along the spine, the edges and pinched spine are excellent with just one small area of wear along the bottom edge near the spine, the rear sleeve is still very clean and white with minimal ageing and creasing and one very small yellow tape mark in the bottom right corner, there are no seem splits at all so why the tape was ever put there is a bit of a mystery, the flip-backs are excellent with just one or two creases/cracks, a great looking early flipback sleeve in very near excellent condition.
The EMI advertising inner sleeve has some creasing and ageing but is still in very good condition.
This is just a very nice early second pressing of The Pink Floyd's brilliant and essential UK debut psych album.
The pictures that i have provided are of the actual album for sale.
