Description

Before you read on, this is actually an interesting one!! This by appearance is a second pressing, however i believe this to be a first issue disc and sleeve with later labels, probably used in the crossover between the 'Blue/Black' plates (1969) and the 'Silver/Black' plates (1970). The reasons i have for this is...The vinyl itself is of the quality 'heavy/thick' type, of which the other copies of this '2nd' issue i own are flimsy at best. Secondly, the sleeve is a genuine 1st issue 'Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending' laminated Flipback sleeve which again would have only been used with the first issue, and this particular 'Patents Pending' sleeve only with the very first run!!! And thirdly and most importantly are the mother & stamper numbers in the dead wax which are 1RD & 1RO which again would make this amongst the earliest of presses!!! I have given my reasoning why i think this may actually be a 1st issue in disguise. Also one last thing to make myself clear, i am not trying to push the price up by giving all this waffle, after all it effectivly is just a very clean copy of a '2nd' press, but i will say that the winner of this item will be very happy with it as the actual audio this produces is the very best i have ever heard this album sound!!!

Title: A Saucerful Of Secrets

Artist: Pink Floyd

Original U.K. Label: Columbia (2nd Press Silver/Black)

Mono / Stereo: Stereo

Date Of Issue: 1970

Cat Number: SCX 6258

Matrix numbers: YAX 3633-1 / YAX 3634-1

Disc Condition: EX+: Due to only very few, very light, hardly noticable surface markings that have no affect on the sound of this disc at all. This is a great copy of this hard-to-find 2nd issue of this classic album.

Sleeve Condition: NM: Due to only one or two, very small laminate creases dotted around the edges. Overall this is a fantastic copy of this rare 1st issue sleeve which is just in beautiful condition.

Label Conditions: Are both clean and tidy with only one or two very faint spindal markings around the centre hole on each side.

THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION, HAPPY BIDDING.
