Pink Floyd : The Final Cut A1/B2 1st Press
This first pressing is up there with the best I have ever sold as there is quite simply no interference. The clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is second to none and it is patently obvious it has hardly been played. In true Floyd style there are of course a number of quiet sections and yet they all play with sensational quality and no background. With barely any spindle wear the vinyl is visually stunning and is a FINAL UPGRADE archive example in every way. Audio does not get any better than this!
The cover is in superb condition with only the bare minimum of shelf wear and as can be seen the sticker is still firmly attached to the front. The original black inner looks untouched.

Visual description
The vinyl is in beautiful condition and still has an immaculate glossy sheen and even under a bright light I can only find a couple of very faint hairlines so it clearly has not been removed from the cover very much. There is one small and very faint fade line on S2 but so minor it hardly warrants a mention. There is also one scratch scuff on the lead in on S2 so it makes sense to place the needle just ahead of it, the intro then plays to perfection! The run out grooves are super clean and the labels are in superb shape also with hardly any spindle wear on S1 and just one trace on S2.
Play grading
The run in on S1 is unbelievably clean and then the car / radio transmission intro on 'The Post War Dream' can only be described 'as new' such is the clarity. Waters' opening vocal section is just as impressive and the one and only chorus also plays with stunning quality. There is only a small number of barely audible dust ticks across the entire track so no interference in other words. A Mint start to this often underrated album.
'Your Possible Pasts' is of the same high end standard with no intrusion. The clarity again stands out and remember this is another track with many quiet moments. No ticks, clicks, pop, jumps or static just pure Mint audio from start to finish.
The segue into 'One Of The Few' is faultless as is the intro. A measure of the clarity is that you can perfectly hear the breathing at the start! The vocal is equally as strong as this is easily another Mint track.
'The Hero's Return' plays with sublime quality from the get go and the standard does not drop as it continues. Again I cannot overestimate just how clean and precise the audio is - every vocal and instrumental section play with a sonic quality that could not be enhanced in any way. Mint
The entire intro on 'The Gunners Dream' is stunning with no background of any kind. The 'crash' has no distortion and the delicate piano plays beautifully. The first quiet vocal is flawless and it continues in the same way incredible clarity and depth. The sax section is 'as new' and that applies to the entire track! A classic in my opinion - a number of quiet and louder sections and they all play to the same impeccable standard. STUNNING! A MINT version in every way. 'Paranoid Eyes' ends the side with of course... no interference. The clarity is equal to that of a vinyl pressed yesterday not 40 years ago. Hard to believe it is 40 years old in fact! Mint

There is a scuff on the lead in grooves so best make sure you place the style ahead of it :-) The intro on 'Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert' then has no real background, just a hint of barely audible static for a couple of seconds, and then the vocal has no interference. Mint- is easily deserved and to be honest the minus might be a little harsh!
'The Fletcher Memorial Home' once again plays with stunning precision throughout with not one iota of interference. A couple of mega light ticks that scarcely deserve a mention and one static tick on the fade out. Mint- is still deserved. 'Southampton Dock' plays without fault from start to finish with no intrusion. Mint
The super quiet intro on 'The Final Cut' has only a couple of dust ticks and from then on plays 'as new' with nothing to detract from the audio. And this truly is audio of the highest calibre! There is no distortion on the top end and again every vocal and instrumental section play with exceptional quality. This may be getting a little repetitive (!) but this is Mint in every single way.
The powerful 'Not Now John' plays with great power and depth and... no interference. No distortion either. Mint
'Two Suns In The Sunset' ends the album with amazing clarity once more. Every note is so clean and there is literally no interference to be heard. 100% Mint and wow what an album!
In summary this first pressing plays like it has never been played before! There is in all honesty just a minimal amount of spindle wear but so so minimal! This is a FINAL UPGRADE for sure and having listened to every track in full I can categorically say there is no interference, no background at all. The clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is sensational and in hand with a superb cover this would add to any high end collection. Perhaps not one of their most collectable but it is a STUNNING album and you could not wish to find a better one!
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve,
The cover is in superb condition with barely any wear. There is just one tiny 'rub' on the bottom edge of the front cover and the wide spine is perfect. The corners are so clean and the opening edge has no handling wear either. The front cover just has one minor crease in the top left corner and one tiny indentation mark. The back cover is perfect and the inside is practically 'as new' also with just one mega tiny rub on the bottom edge near the inner spine. A stunning example and rarely seen as good as this.
The original poly-lined black inner is in fantastic shape with no side splits or tears, no marking and hardly any creasing.
Play tested on my Rega P2 Turntable / Denon PMA-520AE Amp / B&W 684 Speakers
This record has been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
