Description

PINK FLOYD THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN 1967 ODEON OP-8229 WITH ORIGINAL GREEN 1ST PRINT "ARROW" OBI

COVER - NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-)
OBI - VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS ~ EXCELLENT (VG++~EX)
VINYL - STRONG VERY GOOD PLUS (VG++)

This is an incredibly rare Odeon 1st press of the 1st Pink Floyd album. It's considered to be one of the rarest and desirable Pink Floyd collector's item. This is a crazy rare issue in a COMPLETE COMBINATION SET!!! besides a glossy laminated Gt. Britain style flipback cover including the original green 1st print Obi, original EMI Records postcard, original unique extra lyrics insert and original high quality, most likely rice paper, color Odeon Records inner sleeve containing a flap pocket at the top and heavy weight antistatic 1st press only Japanese release red wax vinyl including the "See Emily Play" single (The track is missing from the UK's 1st press and was released in Great Britain only as a single). This is a very early Odeon Toshiba 1st pressing with the 4-digit OP-8229 catalog number released in December of 1967. Please don't mix up this pressing with the reissue of 1970 with a 5-digit OP-80281 number and "Rock Now" pink obi. I grade this very early 1st print cover as Near Mint Minus without any laminate bubbles, only some very light laminate creases. The shiny cover with a sharp and vivid print in spite of its age doesn't have any splits, wear, writing, soiling or ring wear. The spine and edges doesn't contain any damage or tears as the vinyl has been stored separately from the cover. The original 1st print Odeon Records obi with the OP-8229 catalog number and 2,000 Japanese Yen Price  is in great condition for its age only having some very light yellow age staining, few insignificant creases and very light edge wear in a couple of places. The incredibly rare original postcard with a mail record order form in Near Mint Minus condition. Both, the color custom inner sleeve and white lyrics insert are in Near Mint Minus condition with the insert having some occasional yellow age staining. I grade the vinyl as Strong Very Good Plus as it contains a few light marks and hairlines. The labels don't have any wear, only light spindle marks. Ultra rare 1st issue in the rarest combination set.
