Description
This second press of The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is in stunning condition for its age. This is the original UK Columbia Stereo press on the silver/black label. The previous owner assured me that it was hardly played and kept in a plastic sleeve all its "life".
Matrix numbers YAX 3419 - 1 / YAX 3420 - 1 / Stampers 11 M & 2 3 TO / Catalogue number SCX 6157
This copy is in superb condition. You have to look extremely close under a strong light to see any faint hairlines. They are minimal and I'm sure only caused by the record removal. I must stress however that I can barely see any hairlines at all and this is without doubt the best vinyl I have seen of this second stereo press. I would honestly say that it is Near Mint which is astonishing for a record of this age. Older than me!
The laminate Garrod & Lofthouse cover is also in excellent condition. The spine is still strong and clearly legible with The Pink Floyd. The corners have no edge wear and there is no rubbing on the edges either and still retains a very clean opening edge. It just has a few faint creases on the top of the front cover and down the spine but really not that noticeable. The reverse is also very clean which is rare for such a white cover. There is just slight ringwear and the laminate mark running down the right hand side.
The labels are in amazing condition also. There are no spindle marks which again suggests little or no play. As stated this press is on the silver/black label with two boxes top and bottom with the EMI white logo. The Pink Floyd is printed below the tracklisting on each side.
This is a wonderful copy, a true archive copy, and by far the best I have seen of this second stereo press. One that would be practically impossible to improve upon. It is that good!

ALL RECORDS ARE PROFESSIONALLY PACKED IN STRONG MAILERS WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS. THE RECORDS ARE ALSO REMOVED FROM THEIR SLEEVES TO AVOID CUTTING THROUGH THE COVER AND PUT INTO A SEPARATE SLEEVE, AND THEN PLACED INSIDE A PVC SLEEVE.
