First pressings of The Wall are also characterised by the following features:
Cover Sticker:
· Issued with a transparent sticker on the front cover that says (in black Scarfe lettering): "Pink Floyd The Wall."
Front Cover:
· The Wall is cream coloured, not white, with the bricks outlined in purple.
· The cover is made from a single sheet of wrap-around cardboard, and is of a thicker cardboard than on later printings. Covers with a seam at the base of the cover (i.e. made from two sheets) are not first pressing covers. This is made from a single sheet!!
· The bricks on the front cover are not aligned right to the bottom of the cover.
Back Cover:
· There is no scancode on the back cover.
Inside Cover:
· The credits on the inside cover do not list the members of Pink Floyd. It only says "Words and Music - Roger Waters."
· Inside cover “Produced by” credits are for David Gilmour, Bob Ezrin & Roger Waters. Later pressings have Roger Waters listed first.
Inner Sleeves:
· Heavy cardboard inner sleeves with rounded corners and a nine-inch thumb notch.
· Brown inner card - later pressings had white inner card.
Picture label.
· Text around the top edge of the label starts at 7 o'clock and says:
“All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorized public performance, broadcasting and copying of this record prohibited. Made in Great Britain. EMI Records (U.K.)”
Cover: Excellent condition. The gatefold cover has the original plastic sticker “PINK FLOYD THE WALL” on the front. Inner sleeves: Excellent condition. Top openers – made from thick cardboard with rounded edges. Has the 1st pressing brown coloured inner card. Vinyl: Side 1 = Excellent Side 2 = Near Excellent Side 3 = Very Good+ Side 4 = Excellent. Thick vinyl. Very well looked after. Would benefit from a light clean. Labels: Excellent. Postage: £3.50 (UK), £5 (EUROPE) & £7 (REST OF THE WORLD) Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc
Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
